MeeLan Lee is the VP of Engineering and cofounder of Unconventional AI, leading the company's novel hardware research. She taped out her first analog chip while receiving her B.S. and M.Eng. degrees at MIT and designed wireless chips before WiFi existed. She led startup Atheros's highest volume WiFi chip and Qualcomm's first >1Gbps flagship product. At Google, she built a radio moonshot, was pivotal in the early days of chip design across Alphabet, and deployed the Titan security chip into production, shipping over 100 million units. She then cofounded Chipletz to develop a new substrate for advanced packaging technology that bridges the gap between the slowing of Moore’s Law and the rising demand for compute.
